Story Relay 2019 – Get Involved!

The Story Relay 2019 is here! This is a great opportunity to get your students writing creative stories and co-writing with other students all around the world.

Night Zookeeper Josh has written the beginning of an original Night Zookeeper story, but we need your help to finish it. Each week, students will be tasked to complete a lesson and write the next part of the story. One entry will then be chosen and the story will continue, please note that we will be looking for original ideas and good quality writing.

At the end of the relay, the final story will be published, with illustrations, onto the Night Zookeeper website for you to share with your students.

How To Get Involved?

Send this lesson to your students to get them started.

Publish the writing to your class blog.

Drop us an email at hello@nightzookeeper.com to tell us that there are some great extracts to read and we’ll check out your blog.

We will then choose an entry and upload it to the Story Relay lesson collection in a new lesson and the Story Relay will continue.

At the end of the five week relay, your students will then be able to read the finished story that will published to the Night Zookeeper website.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions!

How you can help your child with dysgraphia or dyslexia to enjoy writing.

Dyslexia and dysgraphia are common learning difficulties experienced by children. It can be incredibly tough to find a program that not only helps encourage a child to love creative writing who struggles with either of these difficulties, but also one that allows them to actually flourish as creative writers! So, the main question is how can we help someone with dysgraphia or dyslexia with their writing so that they can grow to love it? There are plenty of online learning games and options for dyslexia and dysgraphia that can help your child.

In partnership with IMM’s Care to Create and printed.com, we set out a very special Star Writing Challenge.

For this Star Writing Challenge, we asked our young writers to create a short rhyming poem about staying positive and spreading love and hope. We also wanted them to create a piece of artwork relating to positivity and spreading love and hope. The winners of this challenge had the chance to have their poems and drawings featured across different hospitals and care homes to help make Key Workers’ and patients’ lives happier.
